Adele has wowed fans with her seven stone weight loss as she hosted SNL on Saturday 24 October.
The Hello singer, 32, joked she “only brought half of her” as she graced the stage for her live appearance on American television.
As she stepped onto the stage, met with applause from the audience, Adele said she was “absolutely thrilled” to be hosting the programme.
Adele added: “Not only do I genuinely love this show, but it’s the show that broke my career here in America 12 very long years ago.

“You see, I was the musical guest in 2008 when Sarah Palin came one with Miss Tina Fey and so, obviously, a few million people tuned in to watch it and, well, the rest is now history.”
The singer, who is rumoured to be dating Skepta, continued: “Now, I don’t know anything about American politics, I mean I’m British so. And I don’t wanna say anything too political so I’ll just say this: Sarah Palin, babes, thanks for everything, yeah?”
Adele also explained she is still working on her long awaited album as she said: “Now, I know there’s been a lot of chatter about me being the host, I’ve seen it – like: ‘Why is she not the musical guest’, but, my album’s not finished yet and I’m too scared to do both.”
Later in the show Adele, who recently gave fans a glimpse of her stunning Los Angeles mansion, spoke about her weight loss.
She said: “And, I know I look really, really different since you last saw me. But, actually, because of all the covid restrictions and travel bans I had to travel light and only bring half of me and this is the half that I chose!”
She added: “Listen, right, I’m nervous you know what I’m like, I always get nervous on live TV. But, tonight, especially so because I swear a lot – like, a lot a lot. And, because I’m British, I tend to skip over those medium ones and go straight to the worse ones.
“Last time I got told off for swearing during a live broadcast, specifically, I was playing Glastonbury and well this is what happened…”
It then cut to a montage of clips of Adele on the Glastonbury stage where she swore on a number of occasions.
Adele’s appearance was met with praise from fans on Twitter.
One wrote: “Adele is the gift that keeps on giving”.
As another said: “Adele is a fantastic SNL host.”
And a third added: “I love that #SNL put on a whole skit just so Adele could sing her hit songs.”
