Weight Loss: The shock of being called uncle motivated this guy lose 30 kgs

Looking older than your age because of your weight and then being referred to as úncle is outrightly embarrassing. The same happened with 26-year-old Parth Tiwari, the memory of which haunts him even today.
That day Parth decided that the only way to feel confident about himself was to get fit by losing weight. Here’s how he shed 30 kilos.

Name: Parth Tiwari

26 years

Highest weight recorded: 124 kilos

Weight lost:
30 kilos

Duration it took me to lose weight: 4 months

The turning point:
One day while I was taking a stroll in my colony, a kid playing cricket said ‘uncle ball do na’. The words did not only hurt me but kept haunting me for days. Being called uncle at the age of 26 was like a nightmare, which came true for me.

My breakfast: 5 scrambled eggs, 10 ml coconut oil, whey protein shake and an apple.

My lunch: Boiled fish or chicken with a tadka made with 10 ml of olive oil/ghee and 150 grams of curd.

Evening snack:

My dinner: Chicken/paneer/fish with two cucumbers and two carrots/spinach and 150 gm curd.

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days):
Pastries/ice creams/pizza. But I eat these only once a week and in moderation.

My workout:
I train for two hours daily, which includes 1 ½ hour of weight training and 30 minutes cardio or 15 minutes HIIT exercises.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by:
Fish, especially tilapia, it’s a superfood. Scrambled eggs and curd as well.

Fitness secrets I unveiled: A healthy diet and a regular workout regimen if followed religiously give birth to fitness.

How do I stay motivated? Mirror, I just love what I am now. The fear and determination to not become what I was before, keeps me determined and motivated.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I always keep trying new things. I keep changing my workouts and diets.

Keeping a track of what you eat is also very important. Seeing the reward of my hard work helps me stay focused.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight? I was not able to stand more than 15 minutes, not able to tie my shoelace easily and a feeling of being a loser because of the way I looked were some of the most difficult things for me.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line? I just want to maintain the way I look today and motivate others to be fit.

What are the lifestyle changes you made?
I have changed my diet completely, have stopped partying often, stopped having alcohol and now I sleep deeply.

What was the lowest point for you?
I met with an accident on 1st of November when it was only one month since I started my fitness journey. I cried like a baby and thought everything was finished but all negativity just flew with the tears, I did not stop, I went to the gym very next day with a broken knee ligament. Yes, I did that. I used a stick to walk for 10 days but this never broke my spirit and determination to change my body and myself.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: You can become anything or anyone you want to. Dedication and a positive mindset can help you achieve any goal.

This weight loss journey was the best journey of my life.
